Fall Trends You’ll Want to Wear

Fall is always about beautiful, rich textures and substantial seasonal fabrics, and this fall is no exception! Think classic elegance and chic sophistication. Here’s a peek at some of my favorite fall looks for full figured women.

Reinvented each season, this year, the quintessential fall classic will be seen from Paris to New York in beautiful jewel tones and modern layered ensembles. For a fuller figure, opt for a cropped jacket paired with a trouser flared-leg to create a waistline and balance, or go head-to-toe in a monochromatic jewel tone, which gives the appearance of a longer silhouette.

Made famous by Jackie O., this season’s sheaths are bold, yet demure Featuring hemlines at the knee and below, this fall’s sheaths are a clever way to elongate curvy figures. The most versatile of styles, pair with a cropped leather jacket and booties for an edgy look or a cardigan and broach for a more classic style.

The military-inspired jacket.

One of my favorite trends of the season, this fall’s military-inspired outerwear focuses on textures and detailing. Look for wool with croc embossed leather trim and a heightened focus on epaulettes. Strong and structured, these military coat styles offer balance to curvy bodies. If you are fuller in the hips, look for styles with sewn-flat or no-hip pockets, same applies to breast pockets if you are fullest in the bust.

The retro peplum.

Reining supreme on runways, peplum has also been given the Royal style nod by Kate Middleton. Feminine and ultra-flattering for fuller figures, look for styles that create a waistline, versus adding volume. Add a belt, wider if you are fuller in the waist, to further define your midsection. Pair with a knee-length pencil or straight skirt for an elongated, sophisticated look.

Whether you are drawn to classic feminine styles or more menswear inspired looks, you’ll love this fall’s rich textures, colors and silhouettes. Enjoy!
