Cathy’s Shopping Cart – Cart #20: Favorite Fall Pieces

Here in Texas, we don’t really have four seasons…

We have this long, way too hot summer that lasts through about mid-October. Then we have about three weeks of “fall” weather, then it’s winter. The time to wear “fall” attire is short here, but that does not keep me from picking my favorite fall pieces. Since it’s still 100 degrees here, I’m already looking at some fall stuff to help me remember the good old days…when I didn’t break a sweat just walking to the car…

This denim jacket will be so much fun for fall, and even early winter! It’s got a great cropped length, it’s lightweight and perfect for chilly mornings but warmer afternoons, and I love the bold stitching. While it will obviously go really well with jeans or leggings and a cute top, I also love the idea of pairing it with a feminine dress for a bit of contrast.

Since last fall/winter, I have been a dedicated leggings wearer. This year, I want to step up my leggings game just a bit. Most of mine were under $10, black, and not great quality. This year, I want to invest in some really good ones, and these are perfect. Heavy knit that’s more pants than leggings, but just as easy and comfortable to wear. They also come in four colors…and I love them all! Seriously, I am not sure how to pick which colors I would get. Probably not the falcon since I’ll get those dirty…

Let me be totally honest here; I don’t actually need any new dresses. If there is one thing I am never short on, it’s dresses. That being said, I am always looking for nice and classy work dresses. I am lucky to work in a casual atmosphere, but I still like to be fancy. This dress is so retro-chic and if comes in four beautiful colors  – turquoise, purple, green and navy. I think I love the turquoise and navy equally but the green and purple are tied for a close second!

At first, I wasn’t sure about these shoes; Are they casual? Are they a house shoe? Can I pull them off? But now I have realized I don’t care about any of those things. I love these shoes! I haven’t worn a loafer style shoe in years, and the leopard print makes it feel so fresh and fun. I could totally see these with some straight leg jeans or knit leggings.

Are you pining for fall fashion yet?

Ciao for now bella!
